Nik, I wish I had known you. My son Jim spoke of you often, and I knew that you were an important influence on his life in NYC. But now I have come to understand that you gave him more than your friendship, and I thank you for it. Having experienced, at a different level, those all=night conversations where the boundaries of the mind are expanded and time does not even exist, I know what a gift you must have been to Jim. I once spoke to you briefly, when you called from NYC to talk to Jim - I wish I had known you, and I grieve for your loss - Know that you will not be forgotten.
